| Prepare the site for your grid before the carrier arrives. We recommend excavation of the pit to sufficient depth to achieve suitable foundation, but also to keep the finished height of the grid above ground level. This minimises silting up of the pit and also acts as a speed trap. A minimum of 50mm layer of sand or crusher dust should be screeded level across the bottom of the pit to reduce the possibility of point loading. |
When the carrier arrives, the grid can be lifted by the trucks crane into place. |
Backfill carefully, ramming the earth in layers. After several weeks use, this fill will have settled and may need to be topped up to avoid depressions at the leading edges. |
